












ITINERARY
- On Day 1 of your Rio Samana expedition, meet your guides and safety kayakers at calle 8 #43A – 89, el Poblado, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia at 6:30 am and drive 2 ½ hours to Puente Samaná
- Safety talk and river rescue education on a river beach on Day 1
- Go on an adventure with the first guides to pioneer the river by raft
- Enjoy birdwatching by waterfalls, lagoons, and canyons
- Rest overnight in sheltered hammocks in jungle camps
- Kayakers must be capable of paddling advanced (class IV+) whitewater
- Take out on Day 2 at the small village of Narices and drive 4 ½ hours to Medellín
- No river rafting experience necessary, must be 18+ years old
Meet your guides at Calle 8 #43A – 89, el Pobaldo, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia at 7:00 am and drive 2 ½ hours to Puente Samaná on the shores of the Rio Samaná. Stop for a complementary breakfast at Mirador Del Cocorná and enjoy a stunning view of the Cocorná valley. At the river, begin a safety talk at the Rio Samaná Bridge to learn about hydrology, river hazards, and rescue techniques. Begin an amazing descent on class 4+ whitewater through a pristine rainforest. Travel through a beautiful silver-blue rock canyon. Witness rare birds, butterflies, and exotic plants in this lowland tropical rainforest. Camp overnight in sheltered hammocks in the rainforest, close to a secluded lagoon and natural swimming pool. Take a river-side walk and swim before enjoy camp-fire dining.

After breakfast, continue to paddle the Samaná River. Samaná’s world-class whitewater is only matched by her stunning scenery. Her warm waters crash over granite boulder fields and intensifies in a grey-blue canyon. Clear creeks drop from high mountain peaks into blue swimming pools and cascading waterfalls accessible only from the river. Paddle and take out at Narices, a small Colombian village. Enjoy a walk to a waterfall while a traditional fish dish is prepared for you. Drive 4 ½ hours from Narices to Medellín, to be dropped off at your hotel.

After your Samaná rafting trip, consider the option to extend the adventure by 1 day and 1 night for a relaxing stay at the beautiful Finca Zafra. Please schedule your extension option when you book the Samaná trip.

MEET US AT THE RIVER:
If you’d like to enjoy a lower price or find it more convenient to meet us directly at the river, this option is for you! Join us at 9:00 AM at La Piñuela in our Operational office next to El Palacio de los Frijoles. Kilometer 84, Medellín-Bogotá Highway, Cocorná, Antioquia.
A 100% deposit is required 3 days before the trip. For last-minute payment or reservation requests, please contact Expedition Colombia. All payments must be made through our booking platform or via a deposit into our Bancolombia account.

According to the Colombian tax system:
- Foreigners are exempt from IVA.
- Colombian residents, citizens, and foreigners living in Colombia for more than 6 months will be charged of the IVA.
- For companies or agencies, the full IVA will be charged.
