Wake up at a gorgeous coffee farm located by the small town of Los Palomos, Fredonia operated by the respected Oro Molido, friends of Expedition Colombia. At breakfast, enjoy a coffee tasting of the farm’s varieties, before departing on a walking tour with a coffee grower to see the process first-hand.

Learn how coffee is linked to every Colombian family in some form or the other and its history is a source of pride for Antioqueños.

Return to the traditional house for a delicious Colombian lunch. Drive to Medellin and stay at a boutique hotel located in the heart of Medellin’s hippest, cosmopolitan neighborhood, the Poblado.

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you to depart for the lively city center. Begin the day visiting the illustrious Botanical Gardens and the iconic collection of bronze sculptures at Botero Plaza. Take a ride on the city’s innovative urban renewal project: cable cars from the center of the city up its mountainside.

Visit Parque Arvi for a nature preserve and a beautiful view of the city. Enjoy a traditional Antioqueño lunch. Next, visit the fascinating “Casa de la Memoria” museum and end your day with a visit to the indigenous site of Nutibara Hill and the urban renewal project “Pueblito Paisa.” Stay overnight in Poblado.

After breakfast at your hotel, receive an airport drop-off for your morning flight to Cartagena. You’ll be received at the Cartagena airport before being transferred to your hotel located in the historical centre of the city. Enjoy lunch before joining a bilingual guide for a private city tour of Cartagena’s enchanting historic center.

Relax with a sunset sail up the Caribbean coast to return to the city harbor aglow at night. Stay at a boutique hotel, ideally located in the walled city. Roam freely throughout the cobblestone streets and Spanish style plazas to view live music and street art.

After breakfast, enjoy two beach day options that take you to beautiful Caribbean Islands. One option is to join a group for a motorboat tour to Rosario Island, or to Baru Island, a unique fishing community with beaches to snorkel and swim. You can also go by a privately chartered sailboat for a day of island hopping on pristine, secluded Caribbean Islands.

Either way, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of small islands lying on the tropical blue waters and receive a fresh welcome drink. Kayaking and snorkeling are optional before dining on a typical lunch in the shade of palm trees. Return to Cartagena in the late afternoon and receive a transfer to your hotel.

If you have an evening flight, enjoy a visit to Aviario National Park, the largest aviary in the Americas. Just 14.5 km. from Cartagena, this natural sanctuary is home to about 138 bird species and 1,800 genetic copies. Here, you can observe pink flamingos, tropical birds, and birds of prey in three different ecosystems (rainforest, coast, and desert). Receive an airport drop-off to Cartagena’s Rafael Nunez International Airport.

Extend your trip by two days and one night to stay on day two and day three at a renowned ecolodge in the heart of a rainforest nature preserve located one ½ hours from Medellin. Surrounded by the marble canyon of the Rio Claro River, view birds and explore caves with wonderful local naturalists and adventure guides.

Continue your adventure on day three for a day trip to Prodigio (one hour drive from Rio Claro), where you will be greeted by a community-run archaeological preservation group. Have archaeology experts and youth leaders guide you to a cave covered in petroglyphs created by pre-Hispanic cultures.
