The meeting point is our office at Masaya Medellín (Cl. 8 # 43A-89, Medellín, El Poblado, Medellín, Antioquia) 10:00 AM.
Our driver will pick you up at Hostel Masaya, which is where our main sales office is located. From there, we will have our first journey of approximately 1.30 hours, traveling along the Medellín – Bogotá highway until we reach “El Palacio de los Frijoles”, where our Rafting base is located and our guides will be waiting for you.
From this place, we venture into rural areas in a 4×4 truck to reach our put in Location at an Eco-hotel on the shores.
In this space, we will have time for lunch and then receive all the equipment. With helmets, life jackets, and paddles in hand, we will begin the introductory practice on rafting maneuvers on the Santo Domingo River, and learn about all the safety measures! AS we start flowing down the valley, your guide will signal good places to jump and teach his crew about the rare biodiversity of plants and birds. Here, the region’s history is also extremely interesting, and the positive transformation process that happened after the civil war is uplifting! Swim, relax on a beach, and learn about how the rivers of the region have not only shaped the landscape, but also the culture.
Extend the day with a Cacao farm visit, where you will also get to enjoy cacao thearpy at stunning waterfall. The region also has a lot of adventures to offer and you can stay a few days to trek, fly, ride, taste or simply relax by the river!
